Your precious Citrina are securely packed in an attractive, sturdy box and will be delivered directly from our nursery to your door. We select the fastest delivery method possible to minimize transit time.
1. Water your Citrina
After traveling several kilometers, your Citrina may need watering. Check your new Citrina's soil. Our plants are well watered and fed before they arrive, but if the weather is particularly hot on the day of arrival, some water may be needed.
Check the humidity of the compost by touching the substrate...if it feels dry at the top, then your plant needs watering. Water your plant well until you feel it getting heavy and never leave water at the bottom of the ceramic pot in contact with the roots.
If the substrate is too dry, we recommend that you start watering slowly and in small amounts until the substrate is adequately moistened. In the following waterings, you should water normally.
2. Finding the right spot
The quickest way to your beautiful Citrina's heart is with sunlight. Just make sure she spends some time in the sun and she will love you all the more for it. Place it near a window or other well-lit location indoors or shady outdoors. Avoid exposing to strong direct sunlight.
Moving to a new environment can be quite stressful for the plant, so the loss of a few leaves is not something that is too worrying. If the drop is excessive it could be a sign of insufficient light and in this case, move your plant to the brightest place in your home.
Light acts as food for plants, so the more light you expose it to, the bigger it will grow, and the bigger it grows, the more light it wants.
3. Should I replant and fertilize immediately?
We send our Citrinas well fertilized and in a vase where they can remain for some time. There will be no need to replant or fertilize it immediately.
Replant: If it is spring, you can do so by choosing a pot around two centimeters wider than the original. The larger pot will give more space to stretch its legs, allowing the roots to develop.
Fertilize: Feeding your plant nutrient-rich foods will also give it a good energy boost and ensure it gets off to a great start in your home. This should only be done during the spring/summer months.
